The End of Stars is now available on Amazon.com for the low, low price of 99-cents. The book will be free for five days starting on Monday (as will The Monster Hunter and The Girl Who Could Live in Yesterday) but all residuals made until then (I get 35-cents per download) will be donated to the Red Cross relief efforts towards Hurricane Sandy response and recovery. And, you know what? All residuals on The Monster Hunter, The Girl Who Could Live in Yesterday, and even The Little Particle That Could made through Sunday will also be donated to the Red Cross relief efforts. So, buy all four books for $3.96 and $1.40 will go to the relief efforts. I’m not keeping a dime for the next four days. 

Why am I doing this? Because The End of Stars is a fairy tale about climate change. It’s the story about a young girl who discovers that the sky is falling and tries to warn her neighbors before her village is destroyed. And whereas I always price these shorts for free for the maximum amount of time Amazon allows them to be free (five days every three months), I figured a story designed to be a segue for parents to talk to their kids about climate change should also do some real, immediate good. 

If the book’s downloaded 1,000 times, that’s $350 to relief efforts. 10,000 times? That’s $3,500. All it would take from you is 99-cents, and you’ll get a good story and do a little bit of good while you’re at it.
